Hello and welcome to Charente Counselling. I hope you will find the information here that you need and I am happy to answer any queries you may have by e-mail or telephone.

I am a counsellor living now in France in south Charente near the borders of Charente Maritime and the Dordogne. My training was person centred and I now integrate other approaches into my work.

In England I was also a counselling skills trainer for many years and I work as a coach and personal development trainer too.

My M.A. is in Creative Writing and my passion is personal growth through self-awareness and creative expression.

As a member of (BACP*), The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I abide by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

Experience
Over a twenty year period: Student Counsellor (Further & Adult Education) ; Lecturer in Counselling Skills, Assertiveness, Confidence Building ; General Practice Counsellor ; Counselling Skills Trainer and Private Practice ; Coach. In France: Counselling and Coaching (face to face and telephone) ; Vacataire Creative Intelligence & Communication (Brest) ; Creative Change Workshops.

As a counsellor, coach and trainer I have worked with a wide range of people exploring both issues rooted in the past as well as enhancing skills, beliefs, attitudes and behaviour relevant to the present and future : times of change, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, stress, anger management, self-esteem, confidence, assertiveness and many aspects of creative expression.

Plus: Personal experience of many life transitions: marriage, children, divorce, mature student, career moves, house moves and ‘more mature’ backpacker.
